How the 8 Stage Set Differs from 6 and 7 Stage Sets

All three sets share the same first six items. The difference is in the final stages:

Choose the set that matches the number of cartridges on your plant, not the one with the most stages. An 8 stage set won't fit a 6 stage plant, which has no housings for the extra cartridges. Count the cartridges and the membrane on your plant:

When This Set Is Due

Every cartridge after the membrane (post carbon, mineral, Nano Silver and alkaline) has a maximum life of one year. With standard water and normal use, the RO membrane also needs changing at around one year. Typical signs that your plant is due:

The tap fills your glass slower than it used to
The water tastes different
The tank takes longer to fill

Fitting all eight new items brings the plant back to its original water flow, as if it were new.

Change Schedule Between Full Sets

The pre-filters wear out much faster than the rest, so don't wait for the yearly set to change them. From our field experience:

Water Quality in Multan, Lahore, Bahawalpur and Karachi

Your water source decides how hard your RO plant has to work. Published testing shows why regular filter changes matter:

National picture: the PCRWR's 2025 water quality monitoring tested 2,205 samples from 70 cities and found 68% unfit for drinking. Bacterial contamination was behind more than half of those failures.
Multan: studies have found arsenic above the WHO guideline in many groundwater samples. Experts say levels vary from area to area and with boring depth, and have called for a citywide survey (APP, September 2026).
Lahore: about 38% of Lahore's samples did not meet standards in the 2025 PCRWR survey.
Bahawalpur: a PCRWR study reported in 2021 found 76% of sampled underground water unsafe to drink.
Karachi: 91% of Karachi's samples failed in the 2025 PCRWR survey.

Each stage in an 8 stage plant handles part of the problem, but only while its cartridge is fresh. If your home uses boring water, a test from a water testing lab tells you what's in your supply.

Membrane Warranty

Axtron does not give a warranty on any RO membrane, and that includes the one in this set. How long a membrane lasts depends on your water and how the plant is run. It wears out sooner when:

The PPF and carbon filters are changed late
The feed water has very high salts (TDS)
The plant runs far more hours a day than normal home use

With standard water and pre-filters changed on time, expect around a year of service.
