- PPF (stage 1): traps dust, rust, sand and mud. The 180 gram grade is the top weight grade of 10 inch PPF on the market.
- GAC (stage 2): removes smell and improves taste.
- CTO (stage 3): further removes smell and protects the RO membrane before water enters it.

3-stage water filters: PPF + GAC + CTO is the standard setup for clear water with taste or smell problems. This set is one complete change for your filter. A 10 inch domestic water filter suits a home of 5–8 people.
RO plants: these are the three pre-filter stages that protect your RO membrane. Fresh pre-filters are the biggest single factor in how long a membrane lasts.

How Long Each Cartridge Lasts
The three cartridges don’t wear out at the same speed. From our field experience:

The PPF fills up fastest because it catches all the dirt first. Old GAC and CTO stop working and cause smell in the water, so don’t use them past 3 months. A transparent 10 inch housing makes it easy to see when the PPF is done.

Tips From Our Service Team
- Filter or RO plant left unused for a while? Replace all cartridges before switching it back on. Standing water in the housings goes stale and starts to smell, and empty housings dry the cartridges out.
- Non-electric water filters: run them on normal overhead tank pressure. Never connect directly to a motor or pump line.
- Very hard water? A cation resin cartridge in an extra housing helps protect the RO membrane from hardness.
