How Many Stages Do You Need?

Stage count is what most buyers compare, so here is what the stages actually do.

Every RO plant has the same core: sediment pre-filters, carbon pre-filters, the RO membrane, and a post-carbon polish. That is roughly five stages and it is what produces the clean water.

Stages beyond that add treatment after the membrane. A mineral cartridge puts back calcium and magnesium that RO strips out, which improves taste. A UV lamp adds bacterial protection. An alkaline cartridge raises pH.

So more stages does not mean more purification. A 6 stage and a 10 stage remove roughly the same dissolved salts, because that work is done by the same membrane. The extra stages change what happens to the water afterwards.

What we would suggest. A 6 stage handles the job for most families. A 7 or 8 stage is worth it if you want mineral or UV treatment, or you did not like the flat taste of RO water elsewhere. Do not pay for stage count alone.

Do You Need RO, or Just a Filter?

Worth getting right before you spend Rs. 30,000 or more.

You need RO if your water tastes salty or brackish, or your TDS meter reads above roughly 500 ppm. Common with boring water across Punjab and Sindh.

A water filter is enough if your supply is municipal or tanker water with acceptable TDS, and the problems are dirt, rust, chlorine smell or bad taste. A 3 stage filter costs around Rs. 7,500, uses no electricity and wastes no water.

Why Our Prices Sit Where They Do

You will find domestic RO plants advertised from Rs. 15,000 on classified sites, and plants at Rs. 100,000 from other suppliers. Here is where we sit and why.

Our systems are Vietnam-made. In this market, Chinese-assembled units sell at the bottom of the range and Vietnamese and Taiwanese units command more. The difference shows up in housing quality, pump life and how the fittings hold up over years rather than months.

All components are new. No refurbished membranes, no reconditioned pumps. The second-hand market is active — you will see plenty of used plants on classified sites — and prices there look attractive. A rebuilt plant with an unknown membrane history is a false economy. Everything we supply is new.

We are not the cheapest and we are not trying to be. If price is the only consideration, cheaper options exist. If you want a plant that is still working in three years with parts available when you need them, that is what we sell.

Running Costs

Electricity. The booster pump runs only while the tank is filling. Consumption is low.

Waste water. RO rejects some water to drain — that is how the membrane flushes away the salts it separates. Higher feed TDS means more rejection. This is normal and unavoidable on any RO system.

Cartridges. PPF sediment every 15 to 30 days depending on your water, carbon cartridges up to 3 months. Check the housings and replace when the sediment cartridge looks fully dirty.

Membrane. No fixed life. It depends on your feed water and how well you maintain the pre-filters. Neglected sediment and carbon cartridges are the single most common cause of early membrane failure — the membrane is the expensive part, and keeping the cheap cartridges fresh is what protects it.

Most customers install these themselves. Systems arrive with complete fittings, and we post installation and servicing videos on our Facebook and Instagram pages covering cartridge changes, membrane replacement, faucet fitting and tank connections. Call or WhatsApp us if you get stuck.

In Multan, Lahore and Bahawalpur we have offices and service teams. We install, service and repair — including systems bought elsewhere. If output has dropped, the water has changed taste, or the pump has failed, call us and we will tell you whether repair is worthwhile before you spend anything.

Outside these three cities we deliver nationwide and support you by phone and WhatsApp, but on-site visits are limited to our three service areas.

There is no fixed figure. It depends on your feed water and how well you maintain the pre-filters. Replacing the cheap sediment and carbon cartridges on time is what makes the expensive membrane last.

Can I install it myself?

Should I buy a used RO plant?

We would not recommend it. A used plant comes with an unknown membrane history, and the membrane is the costly component. What looks like a saving often means replacing the membrane immediately.
