RO Membrane Price in Pakistan – Domestic, Semi Commercial & Commercial Membranes
RO Membranes in Pakistan for Every RO Plant Size
The RO membrane is the heart of every reverse osmosis plant. It is the stage that actually reduces TDS and dissolved salts. Axtron Pakistan supplies domestic, semi-commercial and commercial RO membranes, from 75 GPD home membranes to 4040 and 8040 industrial membranes. We have branches in Multan, Lahore and Bahawalpur, and deliver cash on delivery across Pakistan.

An RO membrane is a tightly wound sheet with extremely fine pores. The plant’s pump pushes water through it under pressure. Clean water passes through, and most of the dissolved salts are carried away in the reject (waste) water. This is why an RO plant lowers TDS while a normal filter cannot.
The membrane only works properly when the water reaching it is already clean. Sand, rust and chlorine must be removed first by the sediment and carbon stages. A membrane fed with dirty water chokes quickly, whatever its brand.
Types of RO Membranes We Supply
Domestic RO Membranes (75 to 150 GPD)
These are used in home RO plants. Most domestic RO plants in Pakistan take a standard 1812 size membrane. We stock 75, 100 and 120 GPD membranes from Axtron, FilmTec, RTL, Hi-Tech and Oasis. For families on high-TDS bore water, the RTL 100 GPD high TDS membrane is built for tougher feed water.

Semi Commercial RO Membranes (200 to 1200 GPD)
These are used in semi-commercial RO plants for shops, offices, restaurants, masjids and small water units. Sizes include 2012, 2812, 3012 and 3013 membranes from FilmTec, RTL and GT. They produce much more water than a home membrane but are smaller than industrial elements.

Commercial RO Membranes (4040 and 8040)
These are used in commercial and industrial RO plants, from half-ton plants upward. We stock brackish water (BW), ultra low pressure (ULP) and fouling-resistant (FR) membranes from FilmTec, Suro, RTL and AXFLOW. Examples include the FilmTec BW30-4040, the Suro ULP-8040 and the AXFLOW BW8040.

What the Size Numbers Mean
Membrane sizes are written as diameter and length. For example, 4040 means about 4 inches wide and 40 inches long, and 8040 means about 8 inches wide and 40 inches long. Domestic sizes such as 1812 and 2012 follow the same pattern on a smaller scale. A replacement membrane must match the size of the shell already fitted in your plant.
Which RO Membrane Fits Your Plant?

High TDS Water – Choosing the Right Membrane
Much of Pakistan’s bore water carries high TDS, especially in South Punjab and Sindh. In our experience, RTL membranes can handle raw water up to around 5,000 TDS. Above that, or where the water carries arsenic, heavy hardness or rust, the whole plant has to be planned around the water report, not just the membrane.
That is why we always ask for your water TDS before recommending a membrane. A membrane chosen without knowing the water quality may not suit it, and it will need to be replaced.
How Long Does an RO Membrane Last?
There is no fixed life for any RO membrane. Under standard water conditions, with standard use and timely maintenance, a membrane can work for up to about 1 year. Treat that as a guide, not a promise. Membrane life depends on:
- TDS, hardness, rust and dust in the raw water
- Daily water production – how many hours the plant runs each day
- Pre-filter servicing – whether PPF, GAC and CTO filters are changed on time
From what we see in the field: if raw water full of rust and dust is fed to a new membrane with no serviced PPF in front of it, the membrane can choke on the very first day.
Running Hours Matter
Standard use for a commercial RO plant is 6 to 8 hours per day. Some owners buy a 1 ton plant and run it 12 to 18 hours a day. That is heavy use: it wears out filters, the membrane and other parts much faster and raises maintenance costs. If 6 to 8 hours a day can’t meet your water demand, a bigger plant, such as 2 ton or more, is the more economical choice.
Protect Your Membrane With Timely Pre-Filter Service
- Change PPF sediment filters every 15–30 days, or as soon as they turn fully brown
- Change GAC and CTO carbon filters every 3 months at most
- Never run raw water through the plant with missing or expired pre-filters
All replacement cartridges are available under filters and cartridges.
No Membrane Guarantee – and Why We Insist on Proper Installation
Axtron gives no guarantee on any RO membrane, from any brand. A membrane’s life is decided by water quality, daily use and maintenance, not by the product alone.
When our team fits a membrane, we:
- Check the complete RO plant and the raw water quality
- Recommend the membrane that best suits that water and plant
- Check the plant again and install the membrane
- Explain to the customer how to run and maintain the plant for a longer run
Many people in Pakistan fit membranes themselves to save the service charge. Done wrong, this often damages a high-cost part and costs far more than the service would have. If a membrane is installed or operated without our consultation, it is at the owner’s own responsibility.
Water Testing at Our Multan, Lahore and Bahawalpur Shops
Bring a sample of your water to any Axtron branch and we will test it for:
- TDS (total dissolved solids)
- Arsenic
- pH
- Hardness
We then recommend the right membrane and RO plant for that water. Customers in other cities, and water bottling businesses that need a more detailed analysis, should get a full test from PCRWR (Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources) and share the report with us. We’ll advise you based on that report. Water quality, government standards and SOPs come first in every recommendation we make.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the RO membrane price in Pakistan?
Domestic RO membranes (75 to 120 GPD) cost about Rs 2,500 – Rs 5,000. Semi-commercial membranes cost about Rs 6,000 – Rs 12,000. 4040 commercial membranes cost about Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000, and 8040 membranes about Rs 100,000 – Rs 120,000, depending on brand and type.
Which membrane do I need for my home RO plant?
Most home RO plants use a 75 to 150 GPD domestic membrane in the standard 1812 size. If your water TDS is high, ask us about a high-TDS membrane such as RTL.
How many membranes does a 1 ton RO plant need?
A 1 ton (1000 LPH) plant uses either 2 × 4040 membranes or 1 × 8040 membrane. A half ton (500 LPH) plant uses 1 × 4040.
How long does an RO membrane last?
There is no fixed life. With standard water, standard use and timely pre-filter service, a membrane can work for up to about 1 year. High TDS, hardness, rust, dust and long running hours shorten it.
Do you give a warranty on RO membranes?
No. We don’t guarantee any membrane, because its life depends on water quality, daily use and maintenance. We do check your water and plant before recommending one.
Can an RO membrane work on very high TDS water?
In our experience, RTL membranes can work on raw water up to around 5,000 TDS. Beyond that, the plant has to be designed around a full water report.
Where can I get my water tested in Multan?
At our head office on Akbar Road, Tipu Sultan Colony, Multan. We test TDS, arsenic, pH and hardness, and do the same at our Lahore and Bahawalpur shops. Call 0302-1635555 or 061-4544442.
Do you deliver RO membranes to Karachi and Islamabad?
Yes. We deliver to every city in Pakistan with cash on delivery. Share your water TDS and plant size first, so we can confirm the right membrane before dispatch.
