This post carbon water cartridge from Axtron is an inline T33 filter filled with coconut GAC (granular activated carbon). Pre Carbon and Post Carbon: Not the Same Job
An RO plant uses carbon in two different places, and customers often mix them up:

Both are needed, and one can’t replace the other. The pre carbon filters handle raw water before purification. The post carbon works on water that has already been purified.
Where the T33 Filter Fits
The T33 post carbon is the first post filter after the RO membrane in most domestic RO plants. It’s an inline cartridge, so it connects in the water line rather than sitting in a 10 inch housing.
The stages after the membrane are flexible and can be arranged to suit your water and needs. Other post filters, such as the mineral cartridge, nano silver cartridge or alkaline cartridge, can be added alongside it.
The first four stages stay the same in every plant: PPF, GAC, CTO, then the RO membrane.

When to Replace Your Post Carbon Cartridge
Like every cartridge after the RO membrane, the T33 post carbon lasts one year at most. Once the carbon is used up, it stops polishing the taste, even though water still flows through it normally.
The easiest way is to change it once a year together with the membrane and your other post filters. Each of our yearly filter sets includes the post carbon cartridge:

Your pre-filters need changing far more often. From our field experience, change the PPF sediment filter every 15–30 days and the GAC and CTO every 3 months at most. Old carbon stops working and lets smell into the water.
