The Golden Rule – Pump Power Must Match Membrane Power
An RO pump is chosen by the total GPD of the membranes it feeds:
- A 100 GPD membrane needs a 100 GPD pump
- A 400 GPD plant, whether it uses 1 × 400 GPD or 2 × 200 GPD membranes, needs a 400 GPD pump
- A 1000 GPD plant needs a 1000 GPD pump
A pump that is too weak gives low water output. A pump mismatched to the membranes puts the plant out of balance. When replacing a pump, always match it to the membrane setup already in your plant. If you’re not sure, bring your plant details to any Axtron branch.

Commercial High Pressure Pumps – Half Ton to 4 Ton RO Plants
In commercial RO plants, a high pressure multistage pump pushes water through the 4040 or 8040 membranes. We supply Lyson pumps (made in China) in single phase (SP) and three phase (TP) versions, along with CNP pumps.

Feed Pumps and Water Filling Tables
The Llaspa 1HP automatic power pump (made in China) is used as a feed pump that supplies raw water to the plant. It is also widely used on water filling tables at RO water shops. Paired with the Llaspa automatic pump control switch, it switches on and off by itself at the filling table.
Dosing Pumps for RO Plants
A dosing pump feeds a measured amount of anti-scalant, or other treatment chemicals, into the water before it reaches the membrane. This helps stop scale from building up on the membrane, which is especially important with hard bore water in Multan, Bahawalpur and South Punjab. Why RO Pumps Fail – And How to Avoid It
From our service experience, the most common reason an RO pump fails is running dry: the pump runs when no water is reaching it. This happens when the overhead tank is empty, the supply line is shut, or the pre-filters are fully choked. A pump running without water heats up and gets damaged quickly.
To protect your pump:
- Keep the water supply to the plant steady before switching it on
- Change PPF filters every 15–30 days and GAC/CTO every 3 months, so water flow is never blocked
- Make sure the plant’s low-pressure switch is working, so the pump stops when water stops
- Use a pump matched to your membrane GPD
