Hi-Tech Vietnam PPF Sediment Filter for RO Water Filters
The Hi-Tech Vietnam PPF sediment filter is a 10 inch polypropylene cartridge for the 1st stage of a domestic RO water filter. It is the first cartridge water meets when it enters the plant. It stops mud, sand and suspended dirt so that the carbon filters and the RO membrane after it stay clean and work properly.
Hi-Tech is a Vietnam-made brand that Axtron Pakistan supplies alongside the Axtron and Classic Pure ranges. This PPF comes in one weight only, 130 grams. It is a standard 10 inch size, so it fits almost every domestic RO plant in Pakistan, whatever the brand.

What the Label Note Means for You
“Chemicals Can Not Be Removed”
A PPF is a physical filter. It catches particles but does nothing for chlorine, smell or dissolved salts. That work is done by the carbon stages and the RO membrane. For carbon, pair this PPF with the Hi-Tech Vietnam GAC UDF filter and the Hi-Tech Vietnam CTO carbon block.
Keep It Away From Too Much Light
Light encourages moss (algae) to grow on a wet cartridge. If your RO plant has transparent housings or stands in direct sunlight, such as on a rooftop, a balcony or near a window, move it to a shaded spot. Moss growth on a PPF means it needs changing straight away.
“Installed Before the RO Membrane”
The PPF must always sit ahead of the membrane, never after it. In a standard domestic RO plant it goes in stage 1, ahead of the GAC and CTO, so that dirt is stopped before it reaches the carbon or the membrane.
Where the Hi-Tech PPF Sits in Your RO Plant
- PPF sediment filter (this product): removes mud, sand and suspended residues.
- GAC/UDF filter: removes most of the chlorine and smell.
- CTO carbon block: a second carbon stage before the membrane.
- RO membrane: the main purification stage.
- Post-membrane stages: post carbon, mineral, nano silver, alkaline or others. These can be changed or rearranged to suit your water quality and needs.

Hi-Tech PPF vs Other PPF Filters at Axtron
| PPF | Made in | Weight | Micron |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hi-Tech Vietnam PPF (this product) | Vietnam | 130 g | Not printed on the label |
| Axtron Vietnam PPF | Vietnam | 180 g | 0.3 micron |
| Axtron Gold 0.3 micron PPF | — | 160 g | 0.3 micron |
| Axtron Gold 1 micron PPF | — | 130 g | 1 micron |
| Axtron Gold 5 micron PPF | — | 100 g | 5 micron |
| Classic Pure PPF | Taiwan | 130 g | 1 micron |
All of these are 10 inch and fit the same housing. A heavier PPF has more polypropylene fibre packed into the same size. For very muddy water, the Axtron Gold PPY sediment filter is another option.
When to Replace the Hi-Tech PPF
From our field experience servicing RO plants:
- Change the PPF every 15–30 days, or as soon as it turns fully brown or dark. In muddy water areas this can be sooner.
- Change it immediately if you see moss (green growth) on the cartridge.
- A late PPF change costs more. Dirt passes into the GAC and CTO and clogs them early, water flow drops, and the RO membrane life is shortened.
- RO plant left unused for some time? Replace all cartridges before using it again. Stale water inside the housings causes smell, and dried cartridges don’t perform properly.
How to Replace the PPF
- Close the water inlet and switch off the RO plant.
- Open the faucet to release pressure.
- Unscrew the 1st stage housing with a housing spanner.
- Remove the old cartridge and wash the inside of the housing.
- Check that the O-ring is seated properly, then fit the new Hi-Tech PPF.
- Tighten the housing, open the water, and check for leaks.
Who Should Use the Hi-Tech PPF
- Homes with a domestic RO plant that uses standard 10 inch housings
- Homes on bore water or supply water that carries mud and sand
- Anyone doing the regular monthly PPF change
A sediment filter does not reduce hardness. In areas with very hard bore water, such as many parts of Multan and South Punjab, ask us about adding a cation resin softening cartridge to protect the membrane.
For a full 3-month change in one order, see the Axtron RO filter set for 3 months or the Classic Pure RO filter set. All cartridges are listed under domestic filters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Hi-Tech Vietnam PPF sediment filter remove?
As printed on the label, it removes suspended residues, mud, sand and some moss, and protects the RO membrane from clogging residues. It does not remove chemicals.
What are the Hi-Tech PPF specifications?
The label lists polypropylene as the composition, a maximum flow of 100 L/H and a use pressure of 5 bars. It weighs 130 grams, is 10 inch, and is made in Vietnam.
Does the Hi-Tech PPF come in other weights?
No. It is available in one weight only, 130 grams.
How often should I change the PPF?
Every 15–30 days, or as soon as it turns fully brown or dark. Change it straight away if you see moss on it.
Why does the label warn about light?
Too much light makes moss grow on the wet cartridge. Keep your RO plant in a shaded place, especially if it has transparent housings.
Will it fit my RO plant?
Yes, if your RO plant uses standard 10 inch housings, as almost all domestic RO plants in Pakistan do.
Where can I buy the PPF sediment filter in Multan?
