The Classic Pure mineral water filter is an inline mineral cartridge for domestic RO plants, made in Taiwan. It’s fitted after the RO membrane and adds minerals back into the purified water before it reaches your glass. Classic Pure is Axtron’s economical second brand, a lower-cost option for customers who want a mineral stage at a smaller budget. What a Mineral Filter Does
An RO membrane removes most of the dissolved salts in water. That makes RO water pure, but it also leaves very little mineral content in it. The mineral filter adds minerals back after purification, at the end of the system.
What it doesn’t do:
- It doesn’t reduce TDS. The RO membrane does that.
- It doesn’t set the pH. That’s the job of an alkaline cartridge.
- It doesn’t make unsafe water safe. See the label warning below.

Label warning: Do not use where the water is microbiologically unsafe, or with water of unknown quality, without adequate disinfection before or after the unit.
How to Install – As Printed on the Label
- Shut off the water supply.
- Note the flow direction marked on the filter.
- Flush 4 gallons of water through the filter before use.
- For quick fittings, push the scratch-free tube end into the bottom of the fittings. For traditional fittings, install fittings and pipes with Teflon tape. Install in compliance with local regulations.
The mineral filter always goes after the RO membrane. The stages after the membrane are flexible and can be chosen to suit your water, so the mineral filter can be used in 6, 7 or 8 stage RO plants alongside other post filters such as the post carbon or nano silver cartridge.
When to Replace It
Like every cartridge after the RO membrane, the mineral filter should be changed once a year at most. Change it together with your other post filters and the membrane. Change your pre-filters more often: the PPF filter every 15–30 days, and the GAC and CTO every 3 months at most.
