Vontreen BW8040 Commercial RO Membrane – Reverse Osmosis Element (Up to 5,000 TDS)
The Vontreen BW8040 is a standard 8″ x 40″ spiral-wound reverse osmosis membrane element for commercial water treatment plants. Built with a fiberglass-wrapped shell and thin-film composite membrane sheet, it fits all standard 8040-size pressure vessels and is rated by Vontreen for feed water up to 5,000 ppm TDS — suited to typical municipal and groundwater conditions found across most of Pakistan. Vontreen's own product label states this membrane's technology is derived from U.S.A.-origin RO membrane technology.

Typical performance figures for standard 8040-format commercial membranes: active membrane area ~400 ft² (37.2 m²), rated permeate flow 6,000–11,000 GPD, salt rejection 99.0–99.5%, max operating pressure 600 psi (41 bar), pH tolerance 2–11 operating / 1–13 for cleaning. These are general 8040-class reference figures, not Vontreen's published rated output.
Which Commercial 8040 Membrane Do You Need?
| Model | Price | Max TDS | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vontreen BW8040 | ₨110,000 | Up to 5,000 ppm | Standard commercial RO, typical municipal/groundwater TDS |
| Suro BW-8040 | ₨110,000 | Up to 5,000 ppm | Alternative brand, same price point |
| Suro FR-8040 | ₨120,000 | Up to 8,000 ppm | — |
| Suro ULP-8040 | ₨100,000 | Up to 1,000 ppm | Ultra-low-pressure operation |
| RTL BW8040 | ₨120,000 | Up to 10,000 ppm | Heavier/high-TDS water sources |
If your feed water TDS is confirmed above 5,000 ppm — common in some borewell and industrial-area sources — the RTL BW8040 is the better-suited membrane for that application.
Who This Vontreen BW8040 Commercial RO Membrane Is For
- Commercial RO plant operators replacing an 8040-size membrane
- Offices, schools, hospitals, and restaurants running commercial RO systems
- Water treatment installers sourcing membranes for new commercial setups
- Dealers and retailers stocking commercial-grade RO membranes
Handling & Maintenance
- Store between 5°C and 35°C, in original packaging, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Flush the membrane before first use as part of standard commercial RO commissioning.
- Clean periodically (CIP) based on feed water quality and system recovery rate; a water test helps determine the right cleaning schedule for your site.
- Replacement interval depends on feed water quality and system design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What TDS level can this membrane handle?
The Vontreen BW8040 is rated for feed water up to 5,000 ppm TDS. For higher TDS water, the RTL BW8040 (rated to 10,000 ppm) is a better fit.
Q2: What size housing does this fit?
Standard 8040 format — 8 inches in diameter, 40 inches in length. Fits standard commercial pressure vessels.
Q3: Can this be used for a new commercial RO plant, or only as a replacement?
Both. It works as a replacement element for existing 8040 housings and as the membrane stage in a new commercial RO plant build.
Q4: How is this different from the Suro BW-8040 at the same price?
Both are 8040-size commercial membranes at ₨110,000. The Vontreen BW8040 is rated for feed water up to 5,000 ppm TDS.
Q5: Is delivery available across Pakistan?
Yes, nationwide delivery is available, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Multan.
