The RTL BW8040 is a BW-series (Brackish Water) membrane, engineered and rated by the manufacturer to handle feed water with salt content up to 10,000 ppm — well above what standard membranes are built for — while maintaining a high removal rate for difficult substances like soluble salts, TOC (total organic carbon), and silica.
