Pressure Vessel 16x65 Top & Bottom – Glass Reinforced Epoxy Tank for Sand, Carbon, Arsenic & Softener Media
The Pressure Vessel 16x65 Top & Bottom (Model 1665) is an empty pressure vessel built as a glass reinforced epoxy vessel with a polyethylene inner shell — the same construction as our other Frotec-labeled vessels. What sets this apart is its Top & Bottom (T&B) port configuration: separate connection points at both the top and bottom of the vessel, rather than a single top-mounted valve with an internal riser tube.
Top & Bottom vs. Standard Top-Mount
Our standard 16x65 vessel uses a single top-mounted control valve with an internal riser tube extending down to the bottom, routing all inlet, outlet, and backwash flow through one connection point. This Top & Bottom version instead has separate ports at the top and bottom of the vessel — a configuration some installations require depending on the control valve setup and plumbing arrangement being used. The raised stand base on this vessel provides the clearance needed for bottom-port plumbing.
If you're not sure which configuration your installation needs, check your control valve and existing plumbing setup, or contact us before ordering.
Multi-Purpose by Design
Because this is an empty vessel, one tank design supports several different treatment functions depending on what you load it with:
- Sand: For sediment and turbidity removal in larger-scale pre-filtration.
- Carbon (GAC or similar): For chlorine, taste, and odor removal ahead of an RO membrane.
- Arsenic removal media: For treating groundwater with elevated arsenic levels — a documented concern in parts of Pakistan's groundwater supply.
- Water softener resin: For hardness removal via ion exchange.
- Gravel: Commonly used as a support/underbedding layer beneath the primary media.
This vessel does not include media, a distributor tube, control valve, or strainer — those are selected and purchased separately based on your specific application.
Using a Strainer With This Vessel
Since this vessel is sold empty, you'll need a vessel strainer as part of your setup whenever you fill it with loose media like sand, carbon, arsenic removal media, or gravel. Strainer size and configuration depends on your specific top/bottom plumbing setup — contact us to confirm the right strainer for this installation.

Who This Is For
Commercial RO plant builders and water treatment technicians whose control valve setup or plumbing arrangement specifically requires separate top and bottom vessel ports, rather than a single top-mounted valve.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What does "Top & Bottom" mean for this vessel? It refers to the port configuration — this vessel has separate connection points at both the top and bottom, rather than a single top-mounted valve with an internal riser tube (as used on our standard vessels). Which one you need depends on your control valve and plumbing setup.
Q2: Does this vessel come with filter media included? No — this is the empty vessel only. You select and fill it with the media appropriate for your application, purchased separately.
Q3: Do I need a strainer with this vessel? Yes — strainer requirements depend on your specific top/bottom plumbing setup. Contact us to confirm the right configuration for this installation.
Q4: What's the difference between this and your standard 16x65 vessel? Port configuration only — both share the same 16x65 size, construction, and operating specifications. The standard version uses a single top-mounted valve; this Top & Bottom version has separate ports at both ends.
Q5: What's the maximum operating pressure? 150 PSI (10 Bar).
Q6: Is delivery available across Pakistan? Yes, nationwide delivery is available, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Multan.
