Axtron Gold 0.3 Micron Sediment Filter – 160 Gram, 10 Inch
The Axtron Gold is a 0.3 micron PPF sediment filter for the first stage of your water filter or RO plant. Made from polypropylene, it traps dust, rust, sand and fine mud before they reach the carbon cartridges and the RO membrane. It weighs 160 grams, which puts it among the higher weight grades of 10 inch PPF sold in Pakistan, and it fits every standard 10 inch housing. You can buy it at our shops in Multan, Lahore and Bahawalpur, or order it with cash on delivery anywhere in Pakistan.
What Makes a Good Sediment Filter: Check the Weight
From the outside, most 10 inch PPF filters look identical. The real difference is how much polypropylene is packed inside, and you can feel that in the weight. In the Pakistani market, 10 inch PPF filters are sold in these weights:
| Weight | Grade |
|---|---|
| 80 grams | Basic |
| 100 grams | Basic |
| 130 grams | Mid |
| 160 grams | High (Axtron Gold) |
| 180 grams | Top |
More material in the same size means finer cleaning and more room to hold dirt before the cartridge chokes. At 160 grams, the Axtron Gold sits well above the 80, 100 and 130 gram filters common in the market.
Axtron Gold 160g or Axtron 180g: Which to Choose?
Axtron sells both of the two highest weight grades:
| Axtron Gold PPF | Axtron Vietnam PPF | |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | 160 grams | 180 grams |
| Micron rating | 0.3 micron | 0.3 micron |
| Size | 10 inch | 10 inch |
| Best for | Everyday use with normal sediment levels | The longest run and maximum cleaning, especially with very dirty water |
Both fit every 10 inch water filter and RO plant. If your water carries heavy mud or rust, the 180 gram Axtron PPF filter gives you the most material. For regular household water, the Gold is a strong, economical choice.
What a Sediment Filter Removes
The Gold's 0.3 micron rating is made for catching very fine particles:
- Dust and dirt
- Rust from old pipes and tanks
- Sand and fine mud (silt)
A sediment filter handles dirt only. Each later stage has its own job:
- Smell and taste: removed by the GAC and CTO carbon cartridges
- Bacteria: removed by a UF membrane
- TDS and salts: reduced by the RO membrane
Stopping dirt at the first stage keeps those later stages working properly and helps them last longer.
Where It Fits
The PPF always goes in the first stage of a water filter or RO plant. In a 3-stage water filter, there are two common setups:
- PPF + GAC + CTO: for clear water with taste or smell problems
- PPF + PPF + CTO: for water with heavy mud or rust. A second PPF in stage 2 adds extra cleaning.
A 10 inch domestic water filter is suitable for a home of 5–8 people.

When to Change Your Sediment Filter
In our field experience, a PPF sediment filter needs changing every 15–30 days, depending on how much dirt, mud and rust is in your water. Boring water and old tank supplies clog it faster.
The simplest check is to look at it. A new cartridge is white. When it has turned fully brown or dark with dirt, change it. A transparent 10 inch housing lets you see this without opening anything.
A few more tips from our service team:
- Unused for a long time? Replace all cartridges before using the filter again. Water left standing in the housings goes stale and starts to smell, and empty housings dry the cartridges out.
- Non-electric water filters: use normal pressure from your overhead tank. Don't connect the filter directly to a motor or pump line.
- Changing everything? The 10 inch PPF, GAC and CTO cartridge set covers all three stages.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a sediment filter?
A sediment filter is the first stage of a water filter or RO plant. It traps dust, rust, sand and mud. The Axtron Gold is a 0.3 micron PPF sediment filter.
What is the difference between the Axtron Gold and the 180 gram Axtron PPF?
Both are 0.3 micron and 10 inch. The Gold weighs 160 grams, and the Vietnam PPF weighs 180 grams. More weight means more filter material, so the 180 gram lasts longer in very dirty water.
How often should I change my sediment filter?
Every 15–30 days, depending on your water. Change it when the whole cartridge has turned brown or dark.
Will it fit my water filter or RO plant?
Yes. It fits every standard 10 inch housing used in domestic water filters and RO plants.
Can I use it in the second stage too?
Yes. For water with heavy mud or rust, use PPF in both the first and second stages, with a CTO in the third.
Does a sediment filter remove smell, bacteria or TDS?
No. It removes dirt only. Carbon cartridges remove smell and taste, a UF membrane removes bacteria, and the RO membrane reduces TDS.
Where can I buy a sediment filter in Multan?
At the Axtron head office on Akbar Road, Tipu Sultan Colony, Multan, open Saturday to Thursday, 10 AM to 7 PM. Call 0302-1635555 for stock and bulk orders.
