Axtron Gold Jumbo PPY 5 Micron – 20 Inch String-Wound Sediment Filter Cartridge (1000 Gram) for Commercial RO Filtration In Pakistan

Axtron Gold Jumbo PPY 5 Micron – 20 Inch String-Wound Sediment Filter Cartridge

The Axtron Gold Jumbo PPY 5 Micron is a 20-inch string-wound sediment filter cartridge, built using polypropylene yarn (PPY) construction rather than spun polypropylene. Wound in layers of thread, this cartridge is designed for a rugged, high dirt-holding first stage of filtration — particularly suited to source water with heavier sediment loads, such as bore water, tanker-supplied water, or areas with visibly rusty or turbid tap water.

String-Wound (PPY) vs Spun (PPF) — Which Should You Choose?

Both are genuine, established sediment-filtration technologies. The right one depends on your water source:

• Choose PPY (string-wound, this product) if your water carries heavier or coarser sediment — common with tanker water, bore water, or older pipelines with rust buildup. The wound-yarn structure handles heavier debris loads without clogging as quickly.
• Choose PPF (spun polypropylene) if your water is moderately clean municipal or filtered tank supply — the graded density structure gives consistent fine filtration for lighter sediment conditions.

Both remove particles down to 5 microns and fit the same standard 20-inch jumbo (Big Blue) housings, so you're not locked into either choice — you can switch between them at your next filter change based on how your water is behaving.

Built for Heavier Sediment Loads

At 1000 grams, this cartridge uses roughly double the material of a standard 500-gram jumbo cartridge (the common baseline size in this category). That added density means more dirt-holding capacity before the filter needs replacing — useful for households and businesses dealing with consistently sediment-heavy water, including tanker-supplied homes in cities like Karachi and Hyderabad where water quality varies by delivery.

Technical Specifications

Note: exact lifespan in months isn't something I can confirm without your field data — see FAQ below for how I've worded this responsibly.

Applications

• Pre-filtration stage for domestic, commercial, and industrial RO plants
• Whole-house jumbo filter housings (main water line entry point)
• Tanker water storage tank pre-filtration
• Bore water and well water pre-treatment
• Protecting downstream carbon filters and RO membranes from sediment fouling

Installation Notes

• Remove the printed label and shrink wrap before installing — the cartridge won't seat or filter correctly with packaging left on.
• Use on cold water lines only; do not exceed 140°F.
• Standard 20-inch jumbo housing installation — no special tools beyond a filter housing wrench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What's the difference between this PPY filter and your PPF jumbo filter?
Construction. This one uses string-wound polypropylene yarn, which handles heavier or coarser sediment loads well. Our PPF jumbo filter uses spun polypropylene with a graded density structure, suited to moderate sediment conditions. Both filter down to 5 microns and fit the same jumbo housings.

Q2: What does this filter remove from water?
Dust, rust, silt, scale, and sediment particles down to 5 microns.

Q3: Is this compatible with my existing jumbo filter housing?
Yes — it's a standard 20-inch jumbo (Big Blue, 4.5" diameter) cartridge, compatible with standard housings used in RO plants, whole-house filters, and commercial systems.

Q4: How long does this filter last?
This depends heavily on your local water quality and sediment levels, so we can't give you a fixed number that would hold true everywhere in Pakistan. As a heavier 1000-gram cartridge, it's built to hold more sediment than a standard 500-gram jumbo filter before needing replacement — but check your water flow and clarity regularly and replace when flow noticeably drops or water looks cloudy.

Q5: Can I use this with hot water?
No — for cold water use only, and don't exceed 140°F (60°C).

Q6: Do I need to do anything before installing it?
Yes — remove the printed label and shrink wrap first. This is stated directly on the packaging.

Q7: Is delivery available across Pakistan?
Yes, Axtron Pakistan offers nationwide delivery, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Multan.
